About Alex Callaway is an award-winning figurative artist based in central England. Working from life and imagination his observational paintings celebrate the poetry found in even the most humble of subjects. Alex is represented by Beaux Arts Bath and The Doorway Gallery in Dublin.
Highlights Awarded first prize in the RBSA Portrait Prize Exhibition 2019 and a finalist in the prestigious Columbia Threadneedle Prize 2018 (the UK’s leading competition for representational art). Alex was also honoured to receive an Alfred Daniel’s Award at the Royal Society of British Artists 300th Exhibition and an Arcadia Contemporary Award from the 12th International ARC Salon.
Alex became an Art Renewal Center (ARC) Associate Living Master in 2016 and a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) in 2017.
